About Us

The Nursery Growers Association of CaliforniaThe Nursery Growers Association (NGA) formed in 1955 as a way for like-minded individuals to solve common problems.  The NGA’s mission has not changed much over the years.  Currently the NGA has partnered with the California Association of Nurserymen and Garden Centers (CANGC) to spearhead agricultural issues here in California and also on a national platform.

NGA and CANGC have boots on the ground in Sacramento and in Washington, DC.  There are many issues that are a common threat to ALL agricultural businesses, including but not limited to: Immigration Reform, E-verify, Water supply/quality/runoff issues, Clean-air legislation, and Exotic/Invasive pests (plant or animal).  No matter what your personal political leanings might be- these issues can make or break your agricultural business.  It is important that you have a voice at the table, and NGA is that voice.  It is important that we all work together to protect our Horticultural and Agricultural Heritage here in California.
